So, this tape "2014: Lite" is what you read it to be now.
It's a number, a colon, and finally the word 'Lite'.

Lite looks like life looks like lie looks like looks like what it looks like, it's all good and comfortably confusing: please don't worry, you're not being marked for your understanding or being told you haven't understood properly, we're all in this together, understanding each other.

Moreover, I'm writing here right now to you that the music is more than just music, generally that is; the tape is more than just the tape. The purpose of :here: is to fill in the quantifiable space by which the second music follows the first music, by which the second tape follows the first tape.

My friend has encouraged a person to think and to produce their own kind of handheld object within their experience. This release is a weight of existence as object of my friend's encouragement and of my hope that none of my friends commit suicide or stay depressed or believe for a sustained amount of numbers that there is no point and that these worlds will never get to know each other even though they may seem sometimes to be constantly saying something else.

This hope has its weak spots and wounds and points where it fasts-forwards: those points are the points you understand as the points of FUCK THIS ALL THIS WORLD WHERE I CAN'T, I CAN'T, I CAN'T, I HAVE TO, I FUCKING HAVE TO

And with that we tried to understand how and why and what it means to be separated and whether those indeterminate yous from whom I'm separated: the strangers, the strangers, the strangers, the over-times-versus-numbers-meanings-versus-words-strangers: whether we will ever lightly see eye to eye or whether we'll perpetually feel perpetually nothing that everything developed the way it did and not the way it does, whether this loneliness, this non-feeling, this emptiness, this urge, this motivation, this fight, these corners, this word, these songs, this place will ever become something or whether they'll all remain huddled and dying, muddled and lying to themselves like there's no tomorrow, constantly rhyming but not actually, you know, not actually nothing, there's nothing more to say: there's still something that rhymes and rhythms with something else: this release is an attempt to recognise that.

To summarise:

The selected songs here are within and around and upon my narration of the number 2014 as I have come to mostly experience 2014. The selected songs have their origin in long ago being told I'm a romantic, a singer-songwriter, a something-something with this and that, they have their origin in a misunderstanding between me and me and you and maybe you again. I'm not saying none of these things aren't, I, GBS Music, I'm just becoming something that feels a little more ____, you know? Something that feels a little more full stop"
